Winter Beach Walk

With a cold north wind at my back and the sun in my face, I took a long walk on the beach this afternoon. It was low tide so there was a lot to see at the water's edge and the walking was easy there along the wet sand. Most of the way it was very rocky.

The seagulls and I had the beach to ourselves, except for an occasional freighter.

Interesting debris on the beach today.

Taking a break and liberating the balloon.

Great blue heron on the fishing pier shortly before take off.
I don't know where the big bird was headed but I started for home at this point and then spotted some military jets off in the distance.

Redemption Song

I love this, another in the round the world series of soul-stirring classics. Be sure you watch full-screen to catch the sights.
